GCOM Summer Camp in Thomazeau: Last Day

On the last day of camp we had a party with all the kids. We stayed up late into the night making 200 cupcakes for each of them to decorate. It was well worth the look on their faces when thhey got to eat cake. We also had a huge water balloon fight which the kids also loved. We gave out a lot of candy and a treat bag at the end of the day. The kids had a great time and it was such a blessing to see them smile. There was one little girl named Belli who clinged to my side and never asked me for toys. I could tell that all she wanted was love. Even though it was just love from a stranger she coudn't stop smiling when I bent down to give her a hug or when I asked her about her life. Camp D'ete was a huge success and I'm so thankful to everyone who helped and who came along to help me live my dream!

Every day after the camp when we got home we went to play soccer with about 15 kids that lived on the street near the house. The soccer field was dirt with homemade soccer goals. We also taught them to play football and were surprised at how fast they picked it up. There were some really talented kids with in the group. The last 3 days we arranged a soccer tournament with them and at the end gave each kid on the team a small trophie. They were so excited and promised to practice their football with the ball that we left them for the next time we come!

Today the 5 that were supposed to leave to head to NYC missed thier flight by 17 minuets. They are not able to get a flight until Thursday so please pray for them!

See you all next year for GCOM Summer Camp , same date. Please see that links for some pics http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2145972455104.2128892.1420070501
